Both Swindon 2XV and 3XV were due to travel to the Rec this Saturday. However, the 2XV pulled out of the league fixture with Calne 1XV and concentrated on fielding a team to beat Calne Crusaders in their own back yard.

With a large number of players and supports watching the hosts fielded their regular 2XV with the exception of the front row after prop Chris Austin was rested due to Injury and replaced with Shane McCafferty. The game started at a fast pace with neither side wanting to take a backward step.

However, the Calne pack started to find another gear and was able to give the backs the platform to show the crowd how to score tries. One of the tries scored was a great team effort with the final pass being delivered by Tom Porter out of the tackle to leave the James Morten to wrestle his way to the Swindon try line for a well deserved score.

Great performances from Captain Tom Morten, James Morten capped off a good day for the club and the Crusaders celebrated another good win in the D&W3 league.
