Supermarine bounced back from a run of three straight defeats in the Dorset/Wilts 1 North to comprehensively beat their weakend rivals Calne 33-7, who had just 15 players availible on the day.

Nick Clarke got hosts Supermarine off to a flying start touching down after some good work at the base of the scrum. Marine extended their 5-0 lead soon after when Clarke went over again after a quickly-taken penalty. And some nifty foot work from Paul Bishop dazzled Calne to sneak through a melee of players to score. Just before the break Richard McEwen scored to put Marine 20-0 up at half-time.

Supermarine ran into penalty trouble early in the second half with McEwen and Titcombe both sin-binned. But despite being down to 14 men, Marine still added to their score, Paul Prentice scoring under the posts and Darren Milne slotted home a drop goal. Calne got their name on the scoresheet once Marine took their foot of the gas, with a solo effort form Paul Jenkins under the posts. But Marine hit back once more when Patrick Higgins scored in the corner.
