Calne's depleted pack was bullied off the ball despite their best efforts. Calne saw this as an opportunity to field a number of the new recruits who to their credit battled to the last but their lack of game time showed, whilst Minety's cohesion and organisation was very impressive and the key to their dominance up front.

The second half saw a rejuvenated Calne who were able to bring back the score to 5 - 10 with a superb individual effort from Fly Half James Gladding. He chipped the defence on the half way line to collect his own kick just before the 22, then he showed his pace with an arching line to the corner which the Minety back line could do nothing about. However, Calne's insurrection was short lived as Minety resorted to the 10 man game and barged over for two more unconverted tries.

Calne will take this opportunity to, in place of the 'Junior Vase' games, to organise an number of friendlys showing our commitment to the spoils of the recent recruiting campaign.
