Training for the 2009/10 season starts Tuesday 9th at 7pm with a fitness and contioning session from our new fitness coach, Di Tabley (Mrs Donny to the rest of us). Tuesday fitness session are open to all: male, female, young, old, members and non-members so please come and join in!

Fitness based skills session will run from Thursday 11th at 7pm, where Rich Kearney and his new coaching partner, Ian Ellwood, will run session for anyone over 17 years of age.

As always, but even more so than ever, our doors are wide open to anyone who would like to join us! We are a very welcoming, open and social club that loves its rugby and plays hard and to win. Calne Rugby Football Club's 1^st XV play competitive rugby in Dorset & Wilts division I North. There were strong showings in previous seasons, 2005/06 & 2006/07 league runners up & third placed in 2007/08, however in the 2008/09 season the 1XV struggled for results and key playing positions. We are actively recruiting for experianced local players to join our flagship team!

The club's 2^nd XV have have now returned to Dorset & Wilts III North from where they achieved promotion from division II on the back of a leauge topping season in 2007/08. Players of all calibers are urgently needed to ensure that this fun loving and very socially active team get the most out of the 2009/10 season.

The club is in the process of it largest recruitment drive in a number of years. 1st XV, as well as 2nd XV, places are genuinely up for grabs, so if you are thinking of making the switch and playing for us, now's the time.

Both teams train as a squad on Thursday evenings at 7pm, you are more then welcome to join in. Please ask for Matt or Richard when you arrive.

From the A4 heading from Chippenham towards Marlborough, turn left at the town center's traffic light controlled junction, (by the new library, Barclays bank and the Landsdown Strand hotel), follow the road past the Somerfield supermarket. The Clubhouse is on your left at the top of the hill and parking is 100M further on.

Welcome to Calne RFC's Junior Section!

12th July 2009 - 1pm

Everyone is welcome to our Youth Section's open day at our clubhouse, the Recreation Ground, on Anchor Rd. There's fun and games for all the family and food foor all too! So feel free to come along.

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our new Junior Section leader, Chris Austin, and his growing team Calne RFC’s Junior Section is now back up and running non-contact Tag-Rugby for anyone 6 to 9 years old.

The wheels are in motion to expand this on to Mini-Rugby, where 9 and 10 year olds are introduced to carefully controlled contact Rugby. Volunteers are needed to help kick start this part of the Junior Section revival.

Chris Austin is a very popular, long serving member of Calne Rugby Club’s senior section. He is CRB cleared, been a 2nd team captain & vice-captain, the Club’s sponsorship co-ordinator, the club’s merchandise Manager and of course a qualified Tag-Rugby coach. Chris has all the commitment and the full support of the Club’s committee, to help develop your Child’s Rugby development, all he needs now is your child to attend one of his sessions and any support and help you can offer to continue his good work.
